I love a red Valentines day dress for dinner on the Vegas strip with Mr. Dawes, a cute little black dress for cooking Valentines Day dinner at home (safer than wearing a lighter color in the kitchen) and then a pink or black dress for Galentine’s Day drinks. What to wear for Valentines Day
The perfect Valentines Day dresses and outfits are different for all of us as we all have different ways we celebrate it and climates we live in. Normally for us it’s a romantic dinner out the day before, cooking at home on Valentines day and having a Galentine’s day night out that week with the girls.
I’m in Vegas, where it could be 75° or it could be freezing so I’m planning on layering an elegant but sexy and cute Valentines day dress with a longline coat. Shoe wise it’ll be either strappy sandals, or tights and knee high boots depending on the weather and the Valentine’s Day outfit I go with and don’t forget the perfect Valentine’s Day nails to complete your look.

What to wear when it’s cold on Valentine’s Day
Gucci has some fab black logo tights you can wear if it’s a bit cold out. I know a lot of my East Coasters and Brits will be looking for something with longer sleeves or thicker material like a pink sweater dress or blazer dress.
This pink blazer dress would make such a cute Valentine’s outfit. It has the such pretty crystal bow fastenings and you can always add tights and a top underneath for extra warmth.
Long sleeves and high necks like these 2 options are another great option if February 14th is a little chilly where you are.

Best red Valentine’s Day dresses
A red Valentines day dress might seem cliché but red is one of those sexy colors that always makes me feel more confident. I’m also OK with all of the hearts, flowers and clichés when it comes to dressing for occasions like this. Red is such a romantic, powerful color, so if you love it as much as I do, these dresses are stunning options for your red dresses and Valentine’s Day outfit.
If you go for a more simple style like a solid color sheath dress, you can always have crystal embellished shoes, bags or accessories to elevate an otherwise basic look.
Admittedly some of these red Valentines day dresses are very fitted for eating out but most of them are made from stretchy material including sexy satin fabrics. So there’s plenty of room for eating and drinking bubbles at whatever fancy restaurant you have booked.
Hervé Léger dresses are brilliant for holding everything in. If you’re wondering if they’re still in style, while they’re not a major fashion trend like they were a couple of years ago, bodycon dresses will always be a classic.
Best pink Valentines Day dresses
Pink dresses are just that bit softer and more feminine than red and there’s so many gorgeous cute pink Valentines Day dresses around. Self Portrait always has such cute, feminine styles that are perfect for soft, romantic and beautiful Valentine’s outfits.
Their quality is also consistent and the dresses often have hidden pockets. Which has become more and more important as phones have got bigger and purses smaller!
Roland Mouret is one of my favorite designers for classy and elegant dresses. The only downside is that they do tend to crease easily. So they’re better if you’re staying in a hotel and going to dinner rather than sitting in the car for a long time.
Unlike this long sleeve, pink sequin mini dress which doesn’t crease. I have it in red and it runs true to size but short. Metallics, all things sparkly and pink are all in style, so this dress is right on trend, super sexy and a best seller.
Classic black Valentines Day dresses
You really can’t go wrong with an LBD for your Valentines Day dress. These super sexy long sleeve dresses are great for staying warm but still have a wow factor. As well as comfier dresses if you’re doing dinner at home and sexier cut out styles if you’re wanting a knock out style.
The off the shoulder black mini dress I’m wearing is one that I bought for the holiday season and one of my best sellers on the blog but it works for pretty much any date night or special occasion. It also comes in lots of other colors including red.
I’m not someone who wears their clothes once and is done. I’m more about minimizing the CPW (cost per wear) and sustainability whenever I can be. So this might be an option for my Valentines day dress this year.
The other one I’m considering wearing is the long black dress pictured above so we’ll see how that fits and looks on the day. A lot of these Valentine’s Day outfits would also work for wedding guest dresses and black tie wedding guest dresses if you’re looking to get more than one use out of them.
