Swimsuit with cover up skirts or sarong sets look effortlessly chic and sophisticated and make packing easy. Finding flattering swimwear is hard enough without having to worry about what to wear with it. In the past I’ve always just thrown whatever cute Kimono or beach wrap went with my swimsuit or bikini but it was never an actual set. I’ve never bought women’s swim skirt sets or bikini skirt sets before but once you do, it’s a hard habit to break. As it makes throwing on a coordinated and stylish outfit on vacation easy. Here’s what’s trending in resort wear coverups this year.

What cover ups are in fashion for 2024
Crystals and everything sparkly is still in style. Once just for the evening, it’s made it’s way into our daywear and now even beach wear. I’m surprised it didn’t happen sooner. As nothing catches the light or looks as beautiful in the sun. Just be careful, if you go for metal details or chainmail you don’t let them get to hot and get burnt!
The 2nd trend is matching short sleeve shirt and shorts coord sets and the 3rd swimsuit and matching coverup sets. Just be careful with the print and material that they don’t end up looking like PJ’s!
My first swimsuit and coverup matching set was this blue and white one. As soon as I saw this printed one piece swimsuit with coverup matching sarong skirt I had to have it. As I was hoping it would go perfectly with my Dior Dway slide sandals without having to fork out for a Dior swimsuit.
They didn’t end up being a perfect match, but close enough! One of the beauties of sarongs is that they are hard to screw up size wise as one size fits most. Just wrap and tie. They also tend to crease a lot less than a lot of other summer vacation fabrics like linen.
The cups are lightly padded on this swimsuit, the white doesn’t go see-through in the water and the adjustable shoulder straps make it easy to get a good strap length. The only thing I will say is that the S is too big for me and they don’t make an XS.

This summer’s swimsuit with cover up sets are more sophisticated and stylish than ever and not just limited to swim skirts and sarongs. Look for details like crystals, sparkly fabrics, bright colors, mesh, crochet, tassels, sheer fabrics and cut outs this season.
