Oscars 2026 red carpet shoes and fashion was feminine and colorful with lots of red stealing the spotlight. While classic black stiletto pumps and strappy heels ruled supreme on the red carpet at the 2026 Oscars there were still some bold colors too. Oscar shoes sometimes get overlooked as all of the attention turns to the gowns. But they can make or break an outfit and are one of the fashion footwear edits I look forward to as I love heels and more glam styles vs everyday footwear. The 2026 Oscars saw celebrities like Renate Reinsve and Li Jun Li wearing some of the most classic but on trend shoes at the Oscars. A lot of Oscar nominees, actresses and A-listers shoes go unseen under gowns at the Oscars but these are the celebs footwear that were on show and I’m so glad they were. One thing to note about Oscars footwear is that shoes are typically chosen to complement the dress rather than compete with it. Platform heels are a popular choice for this reason; they offer a height boost, which matters when gowns are often loaned and hemmed for a specific lift, and the thicker sole tends to be far more comfortable than a dainty strappy sandal during a long night on your feet. The other style that appears year after year is the matching satin stiletto, coordinating with the gown rather than stealing attention from it. It’s a classic approach that works just as well off the red carpet as on it.
From the shoes we could see under the gowns, platform peep toe heel sandals and pointed toe stiletto heel pumps were the most worn styles this awards season.

Renate Reinsve, nominated for Sentimental Value wore Giuseppe Zanotti red strappy stiletto heels with her stunning custom red Louis Vuitton dress by Nicolas Ghesquiere. Her head to toe red 2026 Oscars red carpet look and shoes were one of my personal favorites. It was the perfect combination of elegant and sexy. The fit of the gown was perfection and the matching dainty red heels complimented rather than distracted from the gown.
Li Jun Li Oscars 2026 look | Red gown and red stiletto heels
Another celebrity that chose a head to toe red look that worked so well. Li Jun Li’s Oscars 2026 shoes were red satin strappy stiletto heels that didn’t detract from her head turning red Gaurav Gupta dress. Because the dress was such a glam statement style, I’m glad she went with simple shoes that complimented rather than competed with her red carpet gown.
