Is this Columbia MD hotel near Merriweather Post Pavilion worth it?
Merriweather Lakehouse Autograph Collection is a 4 star, 212-room hotel overlooking peaceful Lake Kittamaqundi in Columbia Maryland. If you’re planning a trip to Merriweather Post Pavilion or Columbia MD and are looking for a chic lakehouse vibe and spa like rooms with a view it’s definitely worth considering this option.

There are a few hotel options in the area that are really close to Merriweather Post Pavilion but the Merriweather Lakehouse Autograph Collection Hotel is the only one on the lake. We weren’t headed to Merriweather but to see my Mother-in-Law in Maryland and we chose this location as it was scenic and a Marriott property. We’re Marriott Titanium members which meant we could also use one of our room upgrade requests, it looked modern and we’d get free wifi.
Merriweather Lakehouse Review | Lakeside Luxury in Columbia, MD
This luxury lakeside hotel in Columbia, MD overlooks Lake Kittamaqundi and is located about an hour away from Washington DC and Dulles airport and a 5 minute drive or 16 min walk from Merriweather Post Pavilion. There is just one other 4 star Aparthotel that’s closer than the Lakehouse to the Merriweather Post Pavilion but we are Marriott Titanium which is how we ended up at this Marriott property.
It’s also close to premier golf courses like Fairway Hills Golf Club (8 minute drive) and Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club (12 minute drive). As well as upscale shopping, Wholefoods, and a mix of entertainment and dining that are all within walking distance.

Merriweather Lakehouse Autograph Collection review | The Balcony King Lake View Guest room
The Balcony King Lake View, Guest room was clean and well appointed with the view being the main selling point. It measures 260sqft/23sqm, has AC, and is non-smoking.
Pros: Clean, wonderful views and the balcony is a lovely spot for coffee or something stronger. There are all the usual amenities you’d expect and we found both the bed and pillows comfortable. The location of this hotel is hard to beat if you’re looking for hotels near Merriweather Post Pavilion that are within walking distance.
Cons: The bathroom was small and only had 1 sink. There was only an overhead shower which wasn’t adjustable so if you’re petite like me and don’t want to wash your hair bring a shower cap.
The door also didn’t shut properly to the balcony so we had to latch it to get it to stay shut. Lastly, the AC was incredibly loud as we went during a heatwave and they were working overtime. Other reviews mention the noise in general at the hotel so bring ear plugs.

Merriweather Lakehouse Autograph Collection restaurants and bars
When it comes to dining at the hotel there are a few options as well as lots of restaurants in the area. The only thing that’s limited is lunch options.
LAK restaurant serves classic American food and is open for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast: Monday – Friday 6:30am – 10:30am | Saturday & Sunday: 6:30am – 12:00pm. Dinner: 7 Days A Week 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm. We had vouchers for complimentary breakfasts which is great except that they don’t mention being worth a certain value which I think is $25. So if you’re breakfast costs more than that you just have to pay the difference. Which is fine but would’ve been nice to know in advance.
Osprey Café is open 7 days a week from 7am – 2pm for freshly baked pastries and Lavazza coffee.
The Rookery Lounge has lake views and is open 7 days a week from 3:00pm – 11:00pm so you can unwind with handcrafted cocktails and light bites.
Amenities
We didn’t spend a lot of time at the hotel so didn’t get to use their amenities but they look stunning.
