ZIIP Halo 2.0 guide – Everything you need to know before you buy

ZIIP Halo 2.0 is the newest at-home microcurrent facial device to hit my testing pile and as someone already obsessed with the original ZIIP Halo, I had to find out whether the upgrade is actually worth it. I’ve been using the ZIIP Halo 2.0 since January 2026, and after seeing the results firsthand, I can honestly say I’m more addicted to it than the original. If you’re searching for the best microcurrent device for lifting, tightening, and anti-aging at home, read on. In this ZIIP Halo 2.0 review I’ll cover what’s new, how it compares to the original Halo, whether the dual microcurrent and Nanocurrent™ waveform technology actually works, tips for getting the best results, real before and after photos, and an exclusive ZIIP Beauty discount code. Plus my honest verdict on whether upgrading is worth it.

I’ve been using ZIIP devices for over two years and have had one-on-one training with the Founder of ZIIP Halo, Melanie Simon, to be able to share the most accurate up-to-date information with you. Alongside my hands-on testing experience, I bring professional beauty formulation training through my own cosmetics line, Dawes Custom Cosmetics, which informs how I analyze ingredients and clinical claims in every product I review. I also test ZIIP alongside other clinical-grade devices including NuFace and Solawave, so my results reflect a real, considered skincare routine rather than an isolated product test. Everything in this review is based on my own consistent use, before and after photos included. This post contains gifted items and affiliate links which do not affect my opinion or the price.

Ziip Halo 2.0 benefits: What the clinical results show

ZIIP Halo offers many clinically backed claims which target multiple skincare concerns:

  • Reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines by 28%
  • Boosts plumpness and firmness by 27%
  • Reduces the appearance of spots by 44%
  • Improves skin tone by 13%
  • 97% saw immediate lifting and firming

However, it’s the length the results last that really sets the ZIIP Halo apart from other at home microcurrent facial devices. As the ZIIP Halo 2.0 dual waveforms give both immediate results and lasting benefits that just get better over time. Honestly, I was dubious when I started using ZIIP 2 years ago as it sounds too good to be true. But having seen the results for myself, I know it works (or at least it has for me!).

ZIIP is the only beauty device to give both immediate results and lasting effect. Achieve long-term skincare results through the power of nanocurrent, that just get better each time you us it.

What’s the difference between microcurrent and nanocurrent and how do they work

In a nutshell, microcurrent is electrical waveforms that you can feel. They’re used in anti-aging beauty devices to stimulate the muscles to contract and relax, causing an immediate lift and instant skin tightening that lasts for up to 72 hours.

Whereas Nanocurrent is tiny electrical wavelengths that sync with the body’s natural current on a cellular level. You can’t feel them like you can but they’re used to blur fine lines and wrinkles, reduce puffiness and even out your skin tone for long-term results and the HALO EFFECT.

The new ZIIP 2.0 adjusts the waveform by varying:

  • Polarity: positive versus negative.
  • Waveform shape: sine, square, direct.
  • Intensity: strength and timing

Each ZIIP treatment in the app is designed using a specific combination of those factors, based on science and clinical testing, to support different skin needs.

ZIIP HALO 2.0 has had a complete engineering rebuild – now delivering waveforms that are 63% more accurate than the original device, maximizing your results.

ZIIP Halo 2.0 vs original ZIIP Halo: what’s actually different?

This isn’t just a packaging refresh. The ZIIP 2.0 also called ZIIP HALO 2.0 has been re-engineered to deliver waveforms that are 63% more accuratethan the original device, delivering visibly stronger toning and lifting results and clinically proven results.

That means:

  • Precision-controlled waveforms for consistent performance.
  • Improved current output means amplified stimulation for deeper, cellular-level results.
  • Deeper cellular-level results that are both instant and long-lasting.

What are the different ZIIP Halo gels and which is right for you

You need to use one of the ZIIP gels with your device and they act as the electrical conductor. There are 4 different gel formulas to choose from that vary from $25 to $129. Which one is right for you depends on your skincare needs.

ZIIP app guide: How to choose which treatment to start with

The ZIIP app is how I use the device 95% of the time as I prefer either longer full treatments or targeting specific areas rather than just the quick 4-minute treatment built into the device. It’s available on both iOS and Android and I even take it with me when traveling as it’s so small and light to pack.

The clinic-level facials in the app include:

  • Full facials that are 4–12 minutes each.
  • Targeted treatments that focus on specific areas of your face and concerns including sun damage and acne.
  • Treatment plans that last 7–30 days, which are full skincare regimens that let you work through the different treatments systematically.

The ZIIP App is available on both IOS & Android.

There are 17 unique treatments inside the ZIIP app, each with its own waveform designed for a specific concern, whether you want lifting, acne clearing, brightening or long-term collagen support.

If you’re just getting started, ‘Learn Your Halo’ is a great place to begin, as is the 30-day plan which builds the habit of using it consistently. My personal favorite is the 6-minute treatment, which is the strongest treatment for instant results. I genuinely see immediate results with that one, especially for sculpting my cheekbones and lifting my brows. You’re going to want to use the device 3–5 times a week to keep building on those results over time.

My top tips for using ZIP Halo 2.0 to maximize your results

Patience and consistency are everything with this device. Like going to the gym, you won’t see results from showing up once but show up regularly and the results compound over time.

Here are my top tips from two years of using ZIIP:

  • Always make sure both silver globes are in full contact with your skin throughout each treatment. If only one globe is touching, the circuit isn’t complete and the current won’t work properly.
  • Keep your strokes upward and outward. Never drag the device downward. You want to lift, not pull down.
  • Use enough gel. Seriously, more than you think you need. If you feel the current too strongly or notice any redness, that’s almost always a sign to add more gel rather than a reaction to the device itself.
  • Safety first: only use ZIIP on the areas they recommend. Avoid your thyroid, chest, breasts and groin, and never use it on skin that is raised, broken, bleeding or painful.
  • I like to use mine in the morning before I shower. It gives me a boost throughout the day, especially before a photoshoot, video or event.
  • One combination I’ve been loving: ZIIP Halo 2.0 followed by my CurrentBody LED mask. The microcurrent preps and lifts, the red light therapy supports collagen production. So together the results are noticeably better than either device alone.

How to clean your ZIIP Halo device

Be very careful cleaning your at home microcurrent facial device and make sure you don’t get it wet. After every treatment simply wipe it down with a soft, clean, lint-free cloth misted with rubbing alcohol or use disposable alcohol wipes.

ZIIP Halo 2.0 Pros and Cons

I really haven’t found any downsides to using the Ziip Halo and still believe it’s the best at-home microcurrent device out there. However, the pros to this at-home microcurrent facial device are:

  • It’s lightweight which makes it easy to hold, use and travel with.
  • The ZIIP app is easy to use and has both full facials and targeted treatments like the blemish solver.
  • Has both micocurrent and nanocurrent.
  • There are 4 different ZIIP Electric Complex Gels so you can choose the one that’s right for you based on your skincare needs.
  • The gels don’t dry out while you’re doing your treatment.
  • Provides instant lifting and makes a great Botox alternative (it won’t freeze your face but it does help lift).
  • Nanocurrent can give a long term glow with consistent use over time.
  • Ability to customize treatments to target specific areas personal to you.

Is ZIIP Halo 2.0 worth the upgrade? My honest verdict

If you already have a ZIIP Halo I wouldn’t say to rush out and buy the new ZIIP 2.0. but definitely consider this when it needs replacing or if you’re not currently using anything. I definitely think it’s worth it and that it works and I genuinely feel the difference in the 2.0. The stimulation feels stronger but still controlled. It’s basically like when you upgrade your phone. Same concept but better technology. I also like that there’s now a cover for the port so gel doesn’t get in there.

How long does it take to see results from ZIIP Halo

The ZIIP HALO glow takes about 6 weeks of consistent use but I see instant tightening results everytime I use it, as well as long term benefits after using it for 2 years. Here’s what you can expect:

  • 0-24 hours: Lifted and contoured.
  • 25-48 hours: Brighter skin.
  • 7 days: Increased lift.
  • After 6 weeks: Reduced lines and wrinkles, smooth skin glowing.

ZIIP Halo 2.0 before and after results: what 2 years of testing showed

I’ve been really consistent with using my ZIIP Halo and now ZIIP Halo 2.0 for over 2 years. It’s the results that I get from it that keep me consistent. Especially around my eyes, my upper eyelids and the overall tone and glow. I’ve tried other at-home microcurrent devices like Solawave and NuFace and really do feel ZIIP Halo is the best microcurrent device on the market.

ZIIP Halo 2.0 frequently asked questions

After two years of using the original ZIIP Halo, and testing the Halo 2.0 since January 2026, these are the questions I get asked most, and the ones I wish I’d had answered before buying.

How often should you use ZIIP Halo 2.0?

ZIIP recommends using the device 3-5 times per week. In my experience, consistency is everything with microcurrent devices, you won’t see the cumulative results from occasional use. I use mine most mornings before I start my day, which makes it easy to stay consistent. If you’re just starting out, aim for daily use for the first few weeks to build up the results, then drop back to 3–4 times a week to maintain. I started with the ‘Best Skin of Your Life in 30 Days’ plan to get me into the habit of using it.

How long does it take to see results from ZIIP Halo 2.0?

You’ll see immediate tightening and lifting after your very first use. That’s not a placebo, it’s the microcurrent stimulating your facial muscles. The longer-term results, the ones that genuinely change your skin over time, take around 6 weeks of consistent use to become really noticeable. I started seeing meaningful improvements in my skin tone, upper eyelid lift, and overall glow between weeks 4 and 6. After two years of consistent use, the results are completely different to where I started.

Can you use ZIIP Halo 2.0 after Botox or fillers?

You should wait at least 2 weeks after Botox or dermal fillers before using any microcurrent device, including the ZIIP Halo 2.0. The electrical stimulation can potentially affect how injectables settle in the early healing phase. Once fully settled (usually around 2-4 weeks) most people safely combine microcurrent with injectables. If you’re nervous you can always just use the ZIIP microcurrent on areas you don’t have injectables and the nanocurrent everywhere. Always check with your injector or dermatologist first if you’re unsure.

Is ZIIP Halo 2.0 safe for sensitive skin?

Yes, when used as directed it’s generally safe for sensitive skin. The key is to use enough conductive gel. If you feel the current too strongly or notice redness, that’s almost always a sign you need more gel rather than a reaction to the device itself. If you have a skin condition like rosacea, active breakouts or any raised or broken skin in the treatment area, check with a dermatologist before using. Also avoid using over your thyroid area, chest, or any areas specifically excluded in the ZIIP guidance.

What’s the difference between ZIIP Halo 2.0 and NuFACE?

The main difference is the technology. NuFACE uses microcurrent only, while ZIIP Halo 2.0 uses both microcurrent and Nanocurrent™ and is currently the only at-home device to do so. Nanocurrent works at a cellular level, encouraging skin repair and regeneration for results that build over time rather than just delivering an immediate lift. The ZIIP app also gives you access to 17 unique treatments each with their own waveform, whereas most NuFACE devices offer one or two modes. I’ve tried both and genuinely feel ZIIP delivers stronger long-term results. If you’re still torn on ZIIP Halo 2.0 VS NuFACE and the best microcurrent devices I did a full comparison review.

Can you travel internationally with the ZIIP Halo 2.0?

Yes, the ZIIP Halo 2.0 is dual voltage so it can be charged internationally without a converter. It’s also small and lightweight enough to pack easily, and comes with a canvas travel bag. I take mine with me whenever I travel. Just make sure to keep the charging cable in your travel bag so it’s always ready to go.

Do you need to use ZIIP gels or can you use any conductive gel?

ZIIP strongly recommends only using the ZIIP gels with their device, and not just because they’re from the same brand. The ZIIP gels contain skincare actives that work synergistically with the device, so you’re treating your skin while conducting the current rather than just prepping it. The Golden Gel is best for mature skin and collagen support, Silver is great for hydration and sensitive skin, and Crystal is formulated for brightening and tone correction. They also don’t dry out mid-treatment, which cheaper gels often do. If you’re unsure which gel is right for you watch the video below.ziip halo gels
