How Vivrelle Works – The Designer Bag Membership Explained
If you’ve ever wanted access to a rotating designer wardrobe without the commitment of ownership, Vivrelle membership makes it possible. If you’re like me and always like to have a new bag or one to perfectly match an outfit for an event, this is for you. In this Vivrelle review I’m sharing everything I learned as a member, how it works, which tier suits different lifestyles, what’s actually in the closet, and whether it lives up to the promise. Think Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Hermès, borrowed, experienced, and swapped whenever your style calls for something new. The freedom to carry a Chanel to dinner, swap it for a Dior the following month, and never feeling locked into one choice. I have a code for your first month on me, but read this first.
I’ve been a Vivrelle member and have personally borrowed and worn designer bags through the service as part of my regular content and event calendar. With over 100 designer bags in my personal collection I bring genuine expertise to evaluating what makes a luxury bag rental service worth it – and what doesn’t. I own pieces from Chanel, Dior and Louis Vuitton outright so I can speak to whether borrowed pieces match the real ownership experience. I’ve paid for membership in the past and was also gifted by Vivrelle. This article contains affiliate links which do not affect my opinion or the price.

How Vivrelle Works – designer bag membership
Vivrelle is a luxury membership-based service where you can borrow designer bags and accessories. It allows you to rotate statement pieces for every RSVP and arrive with something new each time. Once you apply and are accepted you can browse on their website, click add to your closet, and it ships to your door. At the end of the month you can either decide to keep it for longer or swap it after 30 days.
Some of the other benefits are that a free return shipping is included and standard coverage for normal wear and tear is included. As an Editor I have a couple of luxury memberships that allow me to borrow designer bags and accessories without the commitment so that I always have something new for content and events. Pro tip: plan your bag choice around your calendar to get the most use from it.
There are different Vivrelle membership tiers depending on your needs.

Vivrelle Membership Tiers – which one is right for you?
Vivrelle offers different membership tiers at various price points depending on your needs. Here’s how to decide which one’s right for you.
Classique membership: $139/month – 1 item, bags and jewelry up to $4,000 retail value.
This is a great way to give Vivrelle a try or if you have one event you’re planning for that month and aren’t as particular about the value of the bag as you can only borrow up to a retail value of $4,000. However, that still includes pieces like Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra Necklace, various Chanel, Fendi, and Dior bags under $4000. This is the membership I was gifted a 3 month trial of.
Couture membership: $239/month – 1 item, full closet access including jewelry, bags and limited edition pieces.
For $100 more Couture membership gives you full access to all jewelry, bags and limited edition pieces. If you want to borrow designer bags and accessories like Cartier, Chanel, Hermés, Saint Laurent and Dior, this is the membership you’re going to want.
Classique+ Membership: $249/month – 2 items at a time from the Classique closet.
If you don’t want to be locked into just 1 piece a month, this membership tier gives you 2 items at a time for the Classique closet. Perfect for vacations, and a busy social calendar.
Couture+ Membership: Couture+: $339/month – 2 items at once, full closet access to jewelry, bags and limited edition pieces.
This is for my social butterflies, business professionals and content creators that don’t want to be locked into just 1 piece a month. This gives you 2 items at a time from the Couture closet. Perfect for those who like to have options and get a lot of use out of their closet.
Premier: You can also add Premier to any membership for $49/month which unlocks an extra piece from thePremier closet, including jewelry up to $1,000 and select designer bags.

Which Designers Bags and Accessories Can You Borrow on Vivrelle
Vivrelle offers over 40 designer brands to choose from (depending on your tier) including Chanel, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Gucci, Saint Laurent, Prada, Bottega Veneta, Fendi, Balenciaga, plus designer jewelry.
Vivrelle review: The Pros and Cons of Vivrelle – My Honest Take
Like all companies there are pros and cons and it wouldn’t be an honest Vivrelle review without including both. Let’s start with the pros of this members-only club where you can borrow designer bags, jewelry, watches from top brands:
What I loved:
- Quality of the bags which arrived in excellent condition.
- Selection of designer brands is genuinely impressive across all tiers. It encouraged me to try brands I haven’t purchased before.
- Ability to keep a piece as long as you want.
- Free shipping both ways.
- Can purchase at member discount if you want to keep it plus a portion of your membership fee for the time spent with the item goes towards the purchase price.
- Perfect for events, travel, weddings, and content creation.
- NYC showroom available for local members.
- Stylist appointments in-person or via FaceTime.
- The ability to rotate your look with pieces you may not want to permanently invest in.
- The freedom to try bold, trend-forward styles without long-term commitment.
- Flexibility to refresh your collection monthly or hold onto a piece as long as it you want.
- Club Perks: Exclusive discounts with brand partners e.g. Tan-Luxe, Caraway, Too Faced and SLS to name a few. I used the discount to stock up at Tan-Luxe.

Things to consider: Your swaps are only once per month per cycle. Which is great for most people who want to enjoy a bag for a month before rotating but it’s worth noting for anyone who wants to rotate more frequently.
The ‘Available Now’ filter is your best friend since popular styles go fast so definitely turn it on immediately to save time browsing.
There is a three-month minimum membership to ensure they have a community of members who want to rotate luxury accessories vs joining for one-time use.

Vivrelle vs Owning – The Case for Borrowing Over Buying
I don’t have any more room in my closet for bags (I own over 100) but I still like to keep up with current trends which is part of my job, try new brands, try styles I’m considering buying to see if they actually work for me and I actually use it, and to borrow pieces to coordinate with a specific outfit. I mean, how much use would I get out of a purple bag that doesn’t even fit a credit card? But it’s cute for an event.
Who it’s best for:
It really makes sense for:
- Trend pieces you wouldn’t wear forever.
- Bags for specific events (weddings, bridal showers, black-tie galas, charity dinners, festivals).
- Seasonal pieces to update your outfit.
- Content creators.
- Travel (e.g. a cute Dior book tote for the beach and pool).
- People whose taste changes.
- Fashion lovers who want variety.
- Anyone considering a designer purchase but wanting to try before they buy.
- Brides wanting a luxury bag for their wedding.
- Anyone who wants variety without commitment.
Who should consider alternatives: Anyone who wants to swap multiple times per month would get more flexibility from a service with unlimited swaps.

Other Vivrelle Membership perks
If you struggle to put outfits together or find the perfect thing to wear, Vivrelle Ella AI™, your personal AI fashion assistant. You can ask Ella for help packing, dressing for an event, or styling your latest Vivrelle borrow and it’ll offer you styling guidance tailored to your preferences, occasion, and what you’ve borrowed from Vivrelle to complete your look with curated outfits. E.g.: “What should I wear with this Dior bag to a wedding?”

Vivrelle review: Is it worth it
Vivrelle is worth it if you love variety and want access to designer bags and jewelry without the commitment of ownership. There are a few designer bag membership services out there but where Vivrelle stands apart is the quality of what’s in the closet, the flexibility to keep a piece as long as you want rather than being locked into a strict return window, and member pricing if you want keep what you’ve borrowed.
The best use case is borrowing something you’re considering buying outright. If you’ve been eyeing a Chanel or Dior and aren’t sure whether you’d actually use it, renting it for a month tells you more than any review ever could. And if you fall in love with it, you can request a member purchase quote, with a portion of your membership fees applied toward the cost. Effectively you’ve been test driving a bag and getting credit toward buying it at the same time.
Where it makes less sense is if you want to swap multiple times a month or only plan to use it for a single occasion. The three month minimum commitment means it’s designed for members who want to genuinely rotate their accessories regularly rather than dip in and out.
I have over 100 designer bags and still use bag memberships as I like to always have something new, borrow things to go with certain outfits I wouldn’t normally wear, or try new trends without investing in a bag that will date quickly. If you can relate, this is for you. I love the designer bags I own, but it still always feels special to receive a bag I wouldn’t normally buy, open it, and have something new to wear.
Vivrelle vs Join Switch: Both carry similar brands and styles from jewelry to designer bags and offer member pricing. However, the main differences are you can make unlimited swaps with JoinSwitch which I personally love, but Vivrelle offers styling, member discounts at various retailers, hotels and events, and by being a member, you’re paying your item off over time!
If you ever want to buy an item, a portion of your membership fee each month is going towards the item and it will always be less expensive to buy… than anywhere else!
Both are worth trying depending on how you like to rotate. Vivrelle for the extras and member perks, JoinSwitch if unlimited swaps matter more to you. I have exclusive reader discounts for both if you want to try either of them. Use code EVEDAWES for your 1st month of Vivrelle membership free.
