While Hermès Jumping boots and Dolce Gabanna multi-buckle boots are great examples of over the knee versions of this aesthetic. What’s great about this boot trend is that it pairs beautifully with minimalist outfits and really allows the boot to be the statement piece in your outfit.
2026 fitted boots trend
Fitted boots and sock boots are another ankle boot trend for 2026. What’s great about this cut of boots is that they’re great for wearing not just over leggings and pants but they also work under jeans without creating bulk. They also tend to look more elegant with tights, skirts and dresses, and even skinny jean than chunkier styles. Keep both the fit and heel slim for the most in style way to wear this look this season. If you’re petite like me, it’s a great style for creating a streamlined, elongated silhouette.

I really like UGG Tall Chalet boots for this trend which also compliment the Après-ski trend. They’re called tall but they’re inbetween knee and ankle boots so I’m counting them in.
What ankle boots are out of style for 2026
It’s not to say don’t wear them, just that these ankle boot styles aren’t trending right now. I for one will still be wearing my lug sole snow boots in Prague over the holidays as they’re the most practical and warm.
