Faux leather shorts have been on my radar for a while but I was contemplating if I really needed them or not. I already have leather skirts and faux leather leggings. So would I really get much use out of a pair of faux leather shorts? I fell in love with these high waisted nude leather shorts because of the neutral tan color that goes with pretty much everything. I also loved that they were more unique than black faux leather shorts, the flattering paper bag high waist, cute tie belt detail and practical pockets. Also, you can’t beat the price. Sometimes cheap leather shorts look and feel cheap, these don’t. Here’s my top picks for this season from designer to under $70, how to style leather shorts and outfit inspiration to get the most wear out of yours.

The ones I’m wearing are buttery soft and Revolve also offers free shipping and free returns. So I figured if I didn’t like them or they weren’t flattering, as some paperbag leather shorts and waistlines can create extra bulk, I could just pop them back in the mail.

Once I put these buttery soft faux leather shorts on, I didn’t take them off. I wore them out to drinks that afternoon with a white thong bodysuit and matching nude heels.

My only regret is not getting them sooner in the season. But they will look cute with over the knee suede boots under a long coat and I can wear them again in Spring.

The reason I love faux leather shorts so much is because they’re more comfortable and easier to move around in than fitted leather skirts. They’re also more understated and less overtly sexy. You can easily slip a blazer and heels on for work with them or wear them with over the knee boots and a felt hat for the weekends.

I love these nude faux leather shorts (same shorts in black) for drinks with friends as they’re fashionable but not too sexy. If Bardot brings these high waisted leather shorts out in other colors I’ll definitely get them. Rather than risk trying another pair of cheap leather shorts that may or may not work.

When it comes to coats I tend to go for real leather as it’s more durable. But for shorts and even skirts, personally I’m a faux leather girl. As they’re more affordable, easier to wash and vegan friendly.

How to style faux leather shorts

There are so many ways to wear leather shorts for all seasons. Because these are high waisted leather shorts and have a paperbag waist they look best styled with a fitted top. Otherwise, it’s too much bulk and not enough shape.

A simple black or white bodysuit, tank or fitted shirt tucked in creates a form flattering silhouette and the high waist makes legs look longer. You could also wear them with a cropped sweater or a sweater half tucked in at the front. The next time I wear these tan faux leather shorts will be after I’ve tanned my legs!

You could also style them with nude or black tights, boots and a long winter coat to wear them longer through the season.
