I hunted down this wardrobe staple. Here’s the best black heeled, strappy sandals & platforms that I found!
The best black strappy heels, especially black heeled strappy sandals are the sexy footwear style that’s never out of fashion. I’m not really an impulse shopper, especially when it comes to investing in designer heels. I like to look around, think on it, do price comparisons and figure out what’ll get the most wear, look the best on and not kill me walking in them. So it’s not really a surprise that it took me 2 seasons of hunting to find the perfect pair. Which as an added bonus were also on sale. While I went for a more classic style with a few unique touches, I also found some more on trend styles that are in right now from more casual to black dress sandals. Including all types of heels, from trending black strappy platform heels to classic stilettos to sculptural heels. Here’s what I found.

40 best black strappy heels and sandals
You’d think shopping for black heeled sandals would be pretty simple. Set a budget and search but there are so many different styles it gets a bit overwhelming. Stilettos, chunky heels or platforms? Classic simple styles, crystal embellished or gold studded? Ankle strap, strappy sandal or slingback? Which brand is in and what’s out?

I went through thousands of styles from department stores to high street to designer brands to try to cover whatever you’re looking for. Whether that’s designer black dress sandals or a luxe for less pair under $50. These are the styles that stood out to me for their either classic or on trend looks and popularity.

Best Black Strappy Sandals Under $50
If you’re looking for a pair under $50, I really like the Ego Swati strappy sandals with their statement crystal square heel. Square heels are so good for Summer as they sink into grass less than stilettos and are more stable on cobblestones.
Best mid priced black dress sandals
I actually had these black strappy heels on my favorites list until I got my Gucci crystal sandals instead as they’re under $200 and good for when I’m wearing silver. Since the pair I have, have gold accents. I find this brand a bit hit and miss with sizing though so you might want to order a couple of pairs to try on. They offer free shipping and returns so you can find what works best for you.
Splurge or Save | Affordable or Designer black strappy heels
If you’re torn between saving or splurging on designer black sandals it really depends on how much wear you’re going to get out of them. I get so much wear out of mine as we go out a lot and they’re a classic style that won’t date.
However, they were black strappy platform heels or something more statement making or trendy I’d probably go for a cheaper pair if I know I’m only going to wear them for a couple of seasons.

I ordered my regular size in this Balmain pair and they fit great. They’re also not too pointy so that you’re toes don’t fall off the ends, never a cute look or comfortable!

Best designer black strappy heels
The black dress sandals I have from this edit are the pair from Balmain (pictured in this post). They run true to size and what sold me on them, besides the brand and being on sale was the gold stiletto heel and hardware.

I can’t find my exact pair anymore but this is the new season Balmain black strappy heels which look exactly the same except the gold B on the ankle has been replaced with a gold bar clasp which says Balmain. They’re probably a lot easier to fasten to be fair.
Best designer black strappy sandals for a night out
If you’re looking for dressy black high heel sandals, it’s hard to beat these pretty and ever so sparkly crystal Gucci black satin heels. The ankle strap gives a bit of support to these super sexy black dress sandals.
They might be a little heavy going on the credit card but they definitely have the wow factor and with a 4.5″ stiletto heel, the height factor. If that’s too high, they also come in a lower 2.5″ heel as slide sandals.
Comfort or Style
Honestly, that comes down to personal preference when choosing your strappy black heels. When I’m in London or Vegas I prefer more comfortable heels I can happily trot around on an evening out on them.
However, I’ll always sacrifice comfort over style if I really love a pair. Plus there are lots of ways you can make your heels more comfortable as long as they fit well.

Black strappy platform heels are a good compromise between the 2. As they tend to be more comfortable than stilettos as your feet are at less of an angle so there’s less pressure on the balls of your feet.

These are the best black strappy sandals I found on my hunt from all of my go-to online stores from designer to under $50. Whether you’re looking for a classic black dress sandal or something more fashion forward and statement making like Prada’s crystal platforms or Sophia Websters black crystal heel sandals. These black strappy sandals are stand outs for all the right reasons.

If you’re looking for black designer heels on sale, there’s a pair of trending black Versace platform sandals on sale. As well as some stunning Jimmy Choo’s with gold chain accents with 50% off right now.
