Chanel’s timeless two-tone slingback heels get a sleek lift-literally. Here’s why everyone’s talking about Chanel’s latest footwear update
The new Chanel slingback heels that were just released for 2025 with their higher 3.5″ / 90mm block heel finally had me handing over my credit card. I’ve always loved these classic two-tone women’s Chanel shoes but the original heel height did my petite 5’1″ frame no favors! Here’s why I’ve fallen in love with the new higher heel version of Chanel slingback heels, the similarities, differences and everything you need to know if you’re considering buying these women’s Chanel black toe cap heels.

New height, same icon: Chanel’s slingbacks are turning up the heat
Chanel’s legendary two-tone slingbacks just got a sleek new silhouette with a slightly higher heel but the same timeless elegance. This reimagined classic for 2025 bridges heritage and those of us who want a higher heel. Whether you’re styling these Chanel block heels with denim or a little black dress, the updated shape adds just enough edge to make a statement without sacrificing that effortless Parisian polish. It’s a subtle shift that makes a big difference to these women’s Chanel shoes.

New higher heel Chanel slingback heels review
I’ve always loved the look of Chanel slingback heels on other people but they always looked so frumpy on me. The new heel height is only 1″ higher but it makes such a difference.

People have mixed reviews as to whether Chanel slingback heels are comfortable or not. If you normally struggle to keep slingbacks on (e.g. the back strap falls off), you’re probably going to still have the same issue with these. The backs are elasticated but they’re not adjustable. So definitely try them on in store and make sure that back straps not going to fall off.

Personally I’d still class them as a comfortable block heel that’s great for city breaks, lunch or dinner. I trekked all around Saint-Tropez marina in them for a couple of nights in a row. I just don’t know how much walking I actually want to do in them. Not because of comfort but because at this price point I want to wear them but I don’t want to wear them out.

Do I think they’re worth the price? They’re women’s Chanel shoes, I wouldn’t expect them to cost any less. Can you get more affordable Chanel slingback dupes, absolutely but nothing beats the feeling of slipping into Chanel.

Do Chanel slingback heels run true to size
I find they run true to size and bought my regular size in these Chanel block heels.

What’s the difference between the original and the new Chanel slingback heels
Both two-tone beige and black cap toes are made from goatskin leather and grosgrain. There are other material and color options like tweed and black on black but the two tone Chanel heels with black toes are the most classic.
The only differences are:
- The Chanel slingback heel height : Original 2.6″/60mm VS new 3.5″/90mm which creates a sleeker silhouette.
- There’s only a $50 difference in price: Lower heel $1100 New higher heel $1150 + tax

How to style Chanel slingback heels
The beauty of these comfortable block heels, especially when you get them in a neutral color is that they go with so much. Don’t think that because they’re a classic that the styling has to be basic. You can make your outfit as timeless or on trend as you want.
Fall/Winter Chanel slingback heel styling:
- Jeans and a sweater with modern accessories to stop the yawn factor.
- Sweater dress (with or without tights) and Chanel Boy bag.
- Long belted coat and lace tights for a ladylike aesthetic.
- Pants suit and plain t-shirt.
- Work pants suit.
- Black leather jacket, white button down shirt and blue jeans for a timeless look.
- Black or tan leather pants and a plain black or tan sweater.
Spring/Summer styling:
- A sexy black leather mini skirt and white t-shirt. Try a beige t-shirt if you prefer a more matchy-matchy look.
- Black shorts and stripe breton top.
- Tan shorts and back tank top for everyday or vice versa. Don’t forget a chic belt to pull the look together.

4. Tan or black coord set (skirt or shorts).

5. Black maxi slip dress.
6. A fresh white summer dress.
7. Office dresses.
8. Blue denim shorts and a plain black top. Blazer optional.
9. White jeans and a black top.
10. A black mini dress (dressy or casual). These Chanel slingback heels work with both.

11. With a trending polka dot dress.

Shop women’s Chanel shoes
I’ve linked to pre-loved Chanel slingback heels since you can’t buy Chanel shoes from their online boutique. Please note pre-loved are often more expensive than buying them new in store. So as much as I love earning commissions my advice would be to buy in store if you can and if you can’t then shop these beauties below.
