My Favorite Features of the Dior Lady D-Joy bag
The Dior Lady D-Joy bag has been on my radar for a while and knowing how much I use my Lady Dior bag I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. I rent a lot of my bags from JoinSwitch and after renting the Dior Lady D-Joy micro bag for 5 weeks, it was the bag I didn’t want to part with the most. Why? Because it was the perfect size and the 3 different ways to carry it made it one of the most versatile handbags I’ve used. It comes in a lot of colors and 3 sizes so there’s a perfect style for everyone. Here’s everything you need to know about this iconic classic handbag and where to buy it new as well as the best Christian Dior pre-owned Lady D-Joy bags to snap up.

The Lady D-Joy bag epitomizes Dior’s vision of elegance and beauty. Refined and sleek, the timeless style showcases the iconic streamlined aesthetic of the Lady Dior line. Dior
History of Christian Dior Lady D-Joy
The Lady Dior bag as been popular ever since it skyrocketed to fame 1995 when it was gifted to Princess Diana by France’s First Lady. The Dior Lady D-Joy bag is a modern reinterpretation of this bag with a sleek, elongated silhouette that’s right on trend this year with East Meets West bags been a massive trend. It still features Dior’s signature Cannage stitching and luxurious materials, this leather and matching suede lining is perfection, but with a contemporary shape.
Dior Lady D Joy bag sizes
The Dior Lady D Joy bag comes in a few sizes and the one I have is the Lady D-Joy micro bag. After having the Micro Lady Dior bag which was so impractical, I was impressed by how much fits in the Micro Lady D-Joy bag. Spec wise measurements and features:
- Dimensions: 16 x 9 x 5 cm / 6.5 x 3.5 x 2 inches (Length x Height x Width).
- The size is suitable for a phone, a card holder and lipstick.
- Strap length: 92 – 108 cm / 36 – 42.5 inches.
- Drop length: 44 – 51 cm / 17.5 – 20 inches.
- Chain length: 46 cm / 18 inches.
- Chain drop length: 20 cm / 8 inches.
- Top handle length: 18.5 cm / 7.5 inches.
- Top handle drop length: 5.5 cm / 2 inches.
- Main composition: lambskin
- Goatskin and lambskin lining
- Removable chain strap
- Adjustable and removable leather shoulder strap
- Interior slip pocket
- Dust bag included
- Made in Italy
If you want something bigger it also comes in:
- Small: 22 x 11 x 6 cm / 8.5 x 4.5 x 2.5 inches (Length x Height x Width)
- Medium: 26 x 13.5 x 5 cm / 10.5 x 5.5 x 2 inches (Length x Height x Width)

The small gives you 2″ more width and is 1″ taller if you want something just a bit bigger. The medium is ideal if you want something for everyday e.g. to be able to fit your sunglasses case and full size wallet in etc. However, the micro Lady D Joy handbag was perfect for throwing in my phone, credit cards and ID, lipstick and powder compact and not taking up much room in my luggage.
Dior Lady D-Joy bag review
I’m absolutely loving this bag as it looks small but it’s so practical, versatile and works for both the day and night. One of the main bonuses for me was that has 3 different ways you can carry it:
- Fixed top handles for a chic minimalist way to carry it especially for the evening.
- Removable chain and leather shoulder strap for the day or night.
- Removable, thicker, longer leather strap to wear it as a shoulder or crossbody bag. This is the one I tended to use for walking around cities during the day.

The removable straps on the Dior Lady D Joy handbag means you can just wear it as an elegant top handle bags or add one or both straps. I also liked that the chain strap had a leather section where it sits on your shoulder so the chains don’t dig in.
I like the older zipper style on the Lady Dior bag but the flap and magnet fastening is definitely more convenient.

This shade of pink was perfection for someone who loves pink as much as I do. Pink is pretty much a neutral at this point for me!
The pink Dior Lady D Joy bag shown is lambskin with a gold ABC charm but there are also technical fabric, cotton, calfskin, and gold-finish metal D.I.O.R. charms are fully embellished with a pavé of white resin pearls iterations.
