Dior Dway slides are a classic and always popular but are they worth it?
Dior Dway slides have been on my wish list ever since I first saw them. Since I’m now onto my 5th Summer wearing them I wanted to share my honest review with you. I’m normally a heels girl but for vacation and everyday I love cute flat sandals as I don’t really wear sneakers except to workout. I put the Christian Dior slides on the best designer slides post but it wasn’t until a couple of Summers ago in Europe that I handed over my credit card. Here’s why I chose these Dior flats, if they’re comfortable and if I regret buying them or not. There’s lots of patterns and colors to choose from if you don’t like the pair of Dior slide sandals I’m wearing. Read the full review or jump to shop the sandals.
I own the Dior Dway slides personally and have been wearing them for three summers across Europe and Las Vegas, giving me genuine long-term experience of how they hold up rather than a first-impression review. As a fashion editor I handle and review designer footwear regularly and own pieces across multiple luxury brands. This article contains affiliate links which do not affect my opinion or the price.

Dior Dway Slides Review
I put the Dior flats to the test walking around Europe for a week to see how comfortable they were. Here’s what I learned.
How much are Dior slides?
Dior slides vary in price depending on what country you’re buying them in and the exact style of Dior slide sandals. The Dior Dway slides are around £630-£690 on Dior UK, and the Dior flats start at $820 on the US site and in stores, and go up to $930 for the leather Dior Dway slide sandals. I bought my Dior sandals in England from the Bond St boutique, so I know they’re a 100% authentic, and while the conversion rate was good.

Do Dior slides run small or true to size?
I tried both the 37 and 36.5 on in the Dior Dway slides and didn’t notice much difference. I’m normally a 37 but they only had the 36.5 left in the blue Toile De Jouy style I wanted so that’s what I ended up with. I went down half a size in the Dior ribbon slingback heels too.

The Dior site says:
The style fits true to size: we recommend ordering your normal shoe size. For those with wider feet, we recommend ordering a half-size larger than your normal size.

How do you clean Dior slide sandals?
One of the selling points for me on these Christian Dior slides was that the insole is rubber so it’s easy to wipe down. Knowing that I’ll be wearing these Dior flats for walking around a lot in cities and on beach vacations I wanted something that would be easy to clean. If you’ve watched my handbag reviews you’ll know how on it I am about keeping things looking new.

For the canvas upper I’d personally feel safest taking mine to a cobbler rather than risking messing them up. Some people recommend a mild detergent, cool to warm water, spot cleaning and air drying them away from direct heat or sunlight. However, I’m personally not taking any chances and they definitely can’t go through the washing machine!
Are Christian Dior slides comfortable?
Yes, after breaking them in but to start with, no they’re not! The soles are comfortable but the canvas uppers start a little stiff and need breaking in. I did get blisters but just on my big toes the first day of wearing them before I tried the trick below. In the beginning I found them better for short trips and lunches rather than for lots of walking around.

Pro tip: use small bandaids/plasters just above your big toe-joint just where the top of the slides canvas sits on your foot to prevent chaffing or blisters. Once the canvas has softened you can stop doing this.
Now that the canvas has softened up, I find them much more comfortable for wearing all day.
I share how I style my Dior slides for different occasions on Instagram, follow @glamourandgains to see them in real life.
How to make your Dior slide sandals last longer
I took mine to a cobbler to have a thicker rubber sole put on as the original soles are pretty thin (see photo below). I asked them to leave the Dior lucky star on the sole visible though as I love this detail on a lot of the Dior items.

How to Make Sure Dior Slides for Women Are Best Quality
To make sure your Christian Dior slides are authentic I recommend shopping directly from Dior. If you’re buying second hand or vintage Dior, do it through a company like Fashionphile who guarantee authenticity. You can also create wishlists on there where you’ll then get automatically notified if there’s a price drop.

I chose the deep blue and white slide sandals as I wanted a color that was versatile and would go with as much as my wardrobe as possible from summer dresses to jeans. I also bought the matching twilly scarf to wear in my hair or on my bag handles to tie the shoes in with the rest of whatever I was wearing to create a more coordinated look.
If you’re looking for slide sandals that do better around the pool or water, check out the rubber Dioriviera Dio(r)evolution Slide. If you prefer a heel to a flat sandal, check out the Dioriviera Dway Heeled slide. It has the same canvas upper design but with a practical 1.5″ heel height. There’s also the more glam Dway Heeled Sandal which has an elegant 4″ heel.
For my girls who like coordinating shoes and bags (that’ll be me), you can either tie the look together with a matching Dior twilly or look for the saddle bag or D-Lite bag in a matching print.
A warm-weather staple, Dior women’s sandals can be styled to fit any occasion while maintaining the sophistication and savoir-faire of the Christian Dior ateliers.

Are Dior slides worth it
If you have the budget for them and will wear them yes. Because I got the original, classic style version I feel like they won’t date and that I’ll be wearing them until they wear out.

I’m onto summer number 5 wearing them which makes them great cost per wear. I’m also wearing them a lot more now that I’ve broken them in as I find them more comfortable and so easy to slip on and go. They also tend to make most casual outfits look just that little bit more expensive.
