Superdown is one of the more affordable brands on Revolve, here’s why I wear it
Superdown has been one of my go-to affordable brands on Revolve for years. I tend to buy Superdown dresses, tops and matching sets when I want something really fashion-forward and on trend rather than an investment piece I expect to wear for years. What started with a few going-out dresses has now turned into a collection of around 27 Superdown pieces, so I’ve had plenty of experience with the brand’s sizing, fit and quality. I still wear and choose new pieces from Superdown, especially for vacations, nights out and trend-led looks where I don’t necessarily want to spend designer prices. In this updated Superdown review, I’m sharing how Superdown sizing runs, whether Superdown runs small, what I think of the quality after owning so many pieces, my favorite dresses, tops and outfits, and whether I still think Superdown is worth the money.

Does Superdown run small? My sizing experience
One of the questions I get asked most is “does Superdown run small?” Overall, I find Superdown runs true to size and I normally wear an XS, which is also my usual clothing size. The biggest exception for me is their mini dresses. They generally fit true to size through the body but can run really short. Their midi and maxi dresses are normally a much better length on me, although at 5’2″ I sometimes have to have the maxis hemmed. If you’re taller, the extra length will obviously be less of an issue.
I also have a fuller chest, so occasionally a Superdown style that isn’t stretchy or has a very plunging neckline can feel too small or show more than I want it to. In those cases I either need fashion tape or the style simply doesn’t work for my proportions. After owning around 30 pieces, though, XS remains the size I order from Superdown and I find the sizing pretty consistent overall.

These measurements are from Superdown’s size guide. There is some overlap between sizes, so I’d use the measurements alongside the fit information and reviews for the individual piece rather than relying solely on the chart.

If you’re between sizes, I’d check the fabric composition as well. A stretchy bodycon dress is obviously going to be much more forgiving than a structured style with very little give.
What is Superdown clothing brand & who owns it?
Superdown launched in 2019 and is part of the REVOLVE Group. The idea behind the brand is essentially trend-led fashion at a more accessible price point than many of the other brands sold at Revolve. That positioning is still exactly how I think about Superdown after years of wearing it. I don’t go to the brand looking for timeless wardrobe investments. I shop Superdown when I want a current dress, bodysuit, matching set or vacation outfit without spending hundreds of dollars on something that may only be in heavy rotation for a season or two.

Is Superdown a good brand and good quality?
For what you pay, I still think Superdown is great value for money. After owning around 30 pieces, my opinion of the brand hasn’t really changed: the clothing is very trend-led rather than classic, and the quality is generally good for the price. That doesn’t mean every piece feels identical in quality. The black sequin mini dress at the top felt a bit cheap but worked perfectly for the holiday season, whereas the red sequin dress below was really good quality but super short. But honestly, who cares when there’s free shipping and returns? It makes trying more trend-led pieces like these much less of a risk.
That variation is why I always recommend looking at the fabric, construction and reviews for the individual piece rather than assuming every item from the brand will feel exactly the same.
Overall, though, my Superdown clothing has held up really well. I haven’t had issues with pieces falling apart at the seams, and the fact that I’m still choosing Superdown after accumulating around 30 pieces probably says more about my opinion of the value than anything else.
If I wanted a beautifully made classic blazer or dress I planned to keep for a decade, Superdown probably wouldn’t be the first brand I looked at. If I want a really current vacation dress, going-out top or trend-led outfit at a much more accessible price, it’s still one of the first brands I look at on Revolve.
Worse case if it doesn’t fit or you don’t like it just send it back. Best case you’ll find a bargain you love that’s in style.
Superdown dresses review
Superdown dresses are probably what I associate with the brand most. They’re generally fashion-forward rather than classic and there are always lots of going-out, vacation, party and bodycon styles.
As I mentioned above, I find the dresses generally run true to size and wear an XS. The minis can be very short, while midi and maxi styles tend to work better if you want more coverage. Being 5’2″, I sometimes need the longest styles altered.
One of my newer favorites is the Superdown Britlee Maxi Dress, which I wore in Bali. It’s exactly the kind of piece I think Superdown does particularly well: something very on trend and statement-making that works perfectly as a vacation or going-out dress without the price tag of a designer version. The Britlee is a partially lined maxi made from a heavier mesh fabric with ruching at the sides, and mine is an XS which fit perfectly everywhere except for the length which is to be expected as a petite.
I also got this Superdown brown maxi dress which looks and feels way more expensive than a dress that cost under $100. I got the XS which is perfect and didn’t even need altering. It also has adjustable spaghetti straps for the perfect fit.
I also still have some of the Superdown dresses that originally appeared in this review. My pink maxi dress ran true to size, while my red sequin mini was really good quality but extremely short. Those experiences are pretty representative of the brand for me: the body sizing is normally predictable, but if you’re looking at a mini, definitely pay attention to the length.

Superdown tops and bodysuits review
I’ve always been really happy with Superdown tops and bodysuits and find the sizing particularly consistent. I rarely have to deal with returning them because I generally know an XS is going to work for me.
One of my older favorites was a white sheer shirt that came with a matching bandeau top. I also found one of their white bodysuits that was actually thick enough not to be see-through, which can be surprisingly difficult to find. It ran true to size and had a thong back, so there was no VPL.
I’m a girl who tends to stock up when I find something that works, which is also how I ended up owning one of their high-neck cut-out bodysuits in both black and pink. They worked with a bra without it showing and both ran true to size.
A newer addition is the Superdown Chiarah Bodysuit. It has padded underwire cups, adjustable straps, a satin finish and lace trim, so it feels much more like a going-out piece than an everyday basic. Again, I went with my normal XS.
That mix is one of the reasons I keep going back to Superdown. I can find simple bodysuits and layering pieces, but also much more fashion-forward tops that make jeans, pants or a skirt feel like an actual going-out outfit.
Superdown matching sets
Matching sets are another category I think Superdown does particularly well, especially if you like trend-led outfits that require very little styling.
One of my newest is this brown faux-suede look built around the Superdown Patsie Faux Suede Top. I love the rich brown color and suede look for Fall/Winter, and it’s another good example of why I shop Superdown for trends rather than classics. The Patsie is actually faux suede rather than real suede, made from a polyester/elastane blend, and is lined. I wear an XS.
I’ve also owned Superdown loungewear and matching sets over the years, including my pink velour set. I like being able to wear the pieces together for the full look but also separate them and get more wear out of each piece.
Superdown jackets and outerwear
Superdown isn’t just dresses and going-out tops. I also own the Superdown Genna Zip Up Jacket, a black and white faux-leather jacket with a faux-fur lining and zip pockets which is one of my favorite jackets for it’s aesthetic and the price is phenomenal for the quality. I’ve owned more than 18 Revolve coats, jackets and blazers over the last four years, so that article is the better place to go if you’re specifically comparing outerwear rather than Superdown as a whole.
What is actually worth buying from Superdown?
After owning around 30 pieces, I think Superdown is strongest when you shop it for what the brand does best: current, trend-led fashion at an accessible price. For me, that means dresses for vacations and nights out, bodysuits and tops that make an outfit feel more current, and matching sets where I want to try a trend without investing a huge amount in it.
I’m less likely to go to Superdown for classic wardrobe staples that I expect to own for many years. There are other brands where I’d spend more for the fabric and construction if longevity was my main priority.
That distinction is important because I don’t think “good quality” necessarily means every item needs to feel like luxury fashion. My expectation has to match the price and purpose of the piece, and for what I personally buy from Superdown, I still think the value for money is really good.

I normally shop Superdown through Revolve, where I’m already shopping lots of the other brands I wear. Superdown also has its own website.
For me, Revolve is particularly convenient because I can order Superdown alongside other brands and compare several options at once. That’s useful with trend-led pieces where I sometimes want to see a few dresses or tops on before deciding which one I actually want to keep because I’ve also done quite a lot of Superdown returns for one reason or another.
Is Superdown worth it? My verdict after owning 30+ pieces
Yes, I still think Superdown is worth it if you understand what you’re buying. After owning so many pieces, I still shop the brand, still wear it and still think it offers great value for money.
Superdown isn’t where I’d tell you to start if you’re trying to build a capsule wardrobe of timeless investment pieces. Its strength is almost the opposite: current, fashion-forward clothing at prices that make it easier to have fun with trends.
The sizing has also been consistent enough for me that I generally feel confident ordering my normal XS. My biggest sizing warning continues to be the length of some of the mini dresses, while certain non-stretch or plunging styles can be more difficult if you have a fuller bust.
Quality varies somewhat from piece to piece, but overall mine have worn and lasted well, and I’ve continued adding to my collection over several years. With so many pieces now in my wardrobe, I think that’s a much better test of the brand than judging Superdown from a single order. For trend-led dresses, bodysuits, tops, matching sets and vacation outfits, it’s still one of the affordable Revolve brands I come back to.
