The Fall/Winter accessory that transforms any outfit without breaking the bank
The gloves trend is officially back for Fall/Winter, and today’s fashion gloves are redefining cold-weather dressing. Winter gloves are having a major fashion moment, and no, we’re not talking about functional knitwear. The trending gloves this winter aren’t just about keeping warm but about adding instant sophistication. This Fall/Winter, gloves are trending as one of the most transformative accessories in style, turning everyday outfits into editorial-worthy looks. From sleek leather and sheer mesh to lace and opera-length satin, designers like Sergio Hudson, Michael Kors, Khaite and Max Mara have revived gloves as the must-have statement accessory. These are the trending gloves to instantly elevate your outfit and add a touch of vintage glamour, making them one of the top accessories to shop for Winter.

Winter gloves trend | What style of gloves are in style for FW25 / AW25
Gloves for winter might sound predictable, but this season’s trending gloves are anything but basic. Forget the practical pairs and knit gloves you reach for when temperatures drop. Fall/Winter’s biggest accessory trend is all about fashion-forward, statement gloves that elevate even the simplest outfit. This season it’s all about the glamour and personal flair. The most fashion forward styles to wear the winter gloves trend for Fall Winter 2025 include:
- Slouchy leather gloves.
- Long leather gloves in various colors.
- Long lace gloves.
- Rhinestone embellished gloves.

Different types of gloves, like most fashion items, really allow you to choose a style that reflects your personality and style. This season I’m wearing a slouchy leather pair of gloves for when I want an edgier look for the day and night, and a long black lace pair which make me feel sophisticated and feminine for the evening.
How to wear the Fall Winter gloves trend 2025/2026
The beauty of the long gloves in style right now is that they can be worn with pretty much anything. From long leather gloves with evening wear as seen at Bibhu Mohapatra, long black satin opera gloves with gowns at Richard Quinn, to slouchy gloves with Winter coats that seem to be seen on every style star right now. Tone on tone is also very fashion forward this season.
When should the gloves come off
This has been an etiquette question where the rules have been becoming more blurred and relaxed over time. However as a rule of thumb I’d still suggest:
- Wearing fashion gloves outdoors, at formal events like receptions and balls, for fashion events, and when driving or shopping.
- Removing them before eating, drinking, smoking, playing cards, applying makeup, and as soon as you arrive at an informal event.
- When at a formal seated dinner, remove your gloves as soon as you sit and place them on your lap under your napkin before sitting down or in your bag.
- Also remove your gloves to shake someone’s hand (unless you’re royal or the bride greeting guests).
- If you want to wear them for your photos even if it’s inside just make sure to take them off afterwards if you’re at the table or an informal event.
- Never wear rings over gloves. This makes it incredibly awkward for taking them on and off.

From runway to real life: The best gloves to shop this season
These aren’t just cold-weather essentials; they’re runway-inspired pieces and statement gloves that add texture, polish and a hint of old-Hollywood glamour to every look. There’s a style of gloves to nail the winter gloves trend for every taste and budget and even some that are tech-friendly so you don’t have to remove them to use your phone!
