Dior Prestige La Micro-Huile de Rose Serum: Plumping, Glow & 60-Day Results
Dior Prestige La Micro-Huile de Rose Activated Serum is one of Dior’s most luxurious anti-aging serums, promising visibly plumper, smoother, firmer and more radiant skin. But with prices starting at $370 for 1 oz, does Dior Prestige actually deliver results worth the investment? I put it to the test for 60 days, using it morning and night and photographing my skin immediately after application, after 4 hours, 42 days and 60 days. The biggest differences I personally noticed were plumper-looking skin, a smoother texture and more radiance and glow. My under-eye area also looked plumper and less dark in my final photos.
I originally received the serum as my Dior Beauty Privé Platinum holiday gift, so I wasn’t trying to convince myself I’d made a good $370 purchase! Here’s my honest Dior Prestige serum review, before-and-after results, how I use and layer it, what’s actually in those famous rose micro-pearls, and whether I’d spend my own money on it.

What does Dior Prestige collection do?
Dior Prestige was launched in 1999 as one of their luxury anti-aging skincare collections. The key active ingredient in all of this Dior skincare collection is Rose de Granville. Which is known for it’s exceptional regenerating properties.
The benefits Dior claims for Dior Prestige are that the skin is visibly younger. Including revitalization, smoother, plumper and stronger skin:
- Dior Prestige Le Nectar Premier provides complete action on the source of aging. It delivers skin revitalization and helps correct 100% of visible age dimensions – volume (plumpness), texture (smoothness) and radiance.
- Skin feels lifted, with contours reshaped and the appearance of wrinkles reduced.

- Skin appears more even (Le Nectar Premier).

What does Dior Prestige la micro-huile de rose advanced serum do
Dior Prestige is made with 10,000 micro-pearls enriched with rose micro-nutrients and Rose sap. Both of which are supposed to be revitalizing and 4 X more potent than retinoic acid. It’s designed as an anti-aging serum to help plump, replenish, firm, hydrate and lift your facial and neck skin.

Dior Prestige serum ingredients: what’s actually in it?
Rose de Granville and Nutri-Rosapeptide
The hero of the Dior Prestige collection is Rose de Granville, a rose Dior says was selected for its resilience and specifically developed for its skincare. According to Dior, the rose contains 22 micronutrients. The current serum uses Dior’s Nutri-Rosapeptide, combining Rose de Granville micronutrients, rose sap and a peptide. Dior says the updated formula is six times more concentrated in micronutrients and 14 times richer in omegas than its earlier formula.
It’s worth distinguishing Dior’s ingredient research from independent evidence, though. The Rose de Granville is proprietary to Dior, so claims about the finished formula and its anti-aging performance largely come from Dior’s own testing rather than the large body of independent clinical evidence available for established ingredients such as retinoids.
For me, the more useful question is what happened to my skin. After 60 days, I was really happy with my results. My skin looked visibly plumper and more radiant, with smoother-looking texture, but I wouldn’t describe it as producing a dramatic transformation or replacing proven prescription anti-aging treatments.
What are the 10,000 micro-pearls?
One of the most distinctive things about Dior Prestige La Micro-Huile de Rose is its texture. A 1 oz bottle contains approximately 10,000 micro-pearls, designed to combine the penetration and lightweight feel of a serum with the comfort and richness of an oil.
The current formula also contains familiar skincare ingredients including glycerin and hyaluronic acid for hydration, shea butter and rosehip oil for conditioning, ectoin, a vitamin C derivative, adenosine and acetyl hexapeptide-8.
So while the rose technology gets most of the marketing attention, it’s not the only reason the formula can make skin feel hydrated and look plumper.
That last point gives the article some genuinely useful analysis instead of repeating Dior marketing.
How do you use Dior Prestige Serum: Tips for getting the best results
I use Dior Prestige La Micro-Huile de Rose as the serum step of my skincare routine, after cleansing and before moisturizer. Dior currently recommends using one to two pumps.
For maximum absorption and that immediate plumping effect:
- Cleanse your skin and apply any lightweight toner or essence you normally use.
- Dispense 1–2 pumps of Dior Prestige La Micro-Huile de Rose into your palm.
- Using your fingertips, smooth the serum over your face from the center outwards.
- Use gentle pressure rather than rubbing aggressively to help the serum absorb.
- For the jawline, Dior recommends holding the chin between your index and middle fingers and working upwards along the jaw.
- Let the serum settle into your skin before following with moisturizer.
I personally use serum before cream, rather than mixing the two together. You don’t need the entire Dior Prestige collection either. I used other skincare alongside it during my testing and still saw visible plumping and radiance.
If you do want the full Dior routine, follow with your Dior Prestige eye treatment and moisturizer. Otherwise, use the eye cream and moisturizer you already know work for your skin.
How to layer Dior Prestige La Micro-Huile de Rose Activated Serum with other skincare
The easiest way to incorporate Dior Prestige into an existing routine is to think lightest to richest texture:
AM: Cleanser → toner/essence if used → Dior Prestige serum → eye cream → moisturizer → SPF
PM: Cleanser → toner/essence if used → treatment/active if compatible → Dior Prestige serum → eye cream → moisturizer
You don’t have to switch your entire routine to Dior Prestige. In fact, considering the price, I’d personally introduce one Prestige product at a time so you can actually tell what’s making a difference to your skin.
Can you use Dior Prestige serum with retinol or other active ingredients?
Dior Prestige La Micro-Huile de Rose isn’t itself a retinol serum. The formula contains hydrating and conditioning ingredients including glycerin, shea butter, rose extract, rosehip oil, ectoin, sodium hyaluronate, a vitamin C derivative, adenosine and acetyl hexapeptide-8.
If your skin already tolerates retinol, adding Dior Prestige doesn’t necessarily mean you need to stop using it. However, I always recommend introducing new skincare gradually rather than layering several unfamiliar active products at once, particularly if you have sensitive skin.
Personally, I don’t tend to use retinol or retinoids. I have thin skin and regularly incorporate treatments like microneedling into my skincare routine, so retinoids aren’t something I generally use alongside them. Because of that, I haven’t personally tested Dior Prestige and retinol together and can’t speak to that combination from first-hand experience.
Is Dior Prestige serum suitable for all skin types?
Dior Prestige La Micro-Huile de Rose is designed to deliver hydration, plumping and radiance, but how it feels and performs will naturally depend on your skin type. I have combination skin and had no negative side effects while testing it for 60 days. I didn’t experience breakouts, clogged pores, stinging, redness or irritation, and despite the serum’s rich, luxurious texture, I didn’t find it too heavy for my skin. In fact, I genuinely loved using it. My skin looked plumper, smoother and more radiant, and it had that soft, velvety finish I associate with really good luxury skincare. My only real negative is the price.
If you have sensitive skin, I’d still patch test it first, particularly because the formula contains fragrance. And while my combination skin tolerated it extremely well, I can’t personally say how it will perform on very oily or acne-prone skin because those aren’t my skin types.
Is Dior skincare a luxury brand
Yes, Dior skincare is most definitely a luxury brand. With some of their skincare products costing as much as $2900 for the Dior Prestige Le Cabinet Extraordinaire by Neri & Hu – Limited Edition or $7500 for the L’Or de Vie La Crème – Métiers d’Art Limited Edition.
Is Dior Prestige la micro-huile de rose advanced serum worth it?
I was happy with the results and the plumping effect. At first I was a no and would have said it’s just not something I’d want to spend that much on to keep up because of the price point. However, the more I look, the more difference I see. I can’t put my finger on it except that it just looks more youthful over all.
The Dior Prestige skincare collection definitely works better when used altogether but that starts to really add up. If you have the money then it’s definitely a lovely luxury skincare collection and that I think you’ll see results from but it’s not a miracle fix. The more I keep looking at the final before and after photos the more on the fence I sit about whether I’d buy it again.
A more affordable Dior Prestige alternative
If you want Dior anti-aging skincare but can’t justify Prestige prices, Dior Capture is the collection I’d look at next. Dior Capture Le Sérum currently costs $215 compared with Dior Prestige La Micro-Huile de Rose starting at $370. Capture targets wrinkles and firmness, while Prestige is positioned as Dior’s more luxurious micro-nutritive collection focused on skin recovery, plumping and radiance. I wouldn’t call $215 inexpensive skincare by any stretch, but it’s a considerably lower entry point into Dior’s anti-aging serums. However, in saying that, I didn’t see the same visible results with Dior Capture Le Sérum as I did with Dior Prestige Serum.
How long does Dior Prestige serum take to work?
I noticed some effects immediately, but I tested Dior Prestige for 60 days because I wanted to see whether the results went beyond a temporary hydrated glow.
Immediately: My skin felt more hydrated and had a more luminous, velvety finish.
After 4 hours: I photographed my skin again to see whether the initial effect lasted rather than judging it immediately after application.
After 42 days: This is the comparison I consider the cleanest representation of my longer-term results because Dior Prestige was the main change I was assessing.
After 60 days: My skin looked plumper and more radiant, and my under-eye area appeared plumper and less dark.
I started using my ZIIP Halo after day 42, so I can’t attribute every difference between day 42 and day 60 exclusively to Dior Prestige. That’s why I’ve included both sets of photos rather than only showing the most flattering final comparison.

The proof of whether something works or not is always in the results. These are my before and after photos with the immediate results, after 4 hours and after 60 days of using it twice a day.
My skin was definitely more plump and glowing but I’m not sure I can personally justify the price tag of investing in the whole collection. They do have some bundles and gift sets that make it cheaper than buying the skincare products separately.
I’ve included Dior Prestige la micro-huile de rose advanced serum before and after results at both 42 days and 60 days as well as smiling and not smiling. As crows feet always look worse smiling. After 42 days I also started using the ZIIP Halo device. Since I don’t know if the ZIIP affected the final results at 60 days I’m showing both to be fully transparent.
To me the under eyes look visibly plumper and less dark and the skin is more radiant.

Is Dior Prestige serum good?
Yes, based on my 60-day test I think Dior Prestige La Micro-Huile de Rose is an excellent luxury serum. My skin looked plumper, smoother and more radiant, and my under-eye area appeared plumper and less dark. What I’m less convinced about is whether those improvements are significant enough to justify the price for everyone.
Is Dior Prestige worth the money?
For results, yes; for value, it depends. I saw enough improvement after 60 days to understand why people love it, particularly for plumping and radiance. However, it’s an expensive routine to maintain and I don’t consider it a miracle treatment. If $370+ for one serum doesn’t comfortably fit your skincare budget, I wouldn’t stretch for it.
